Our Mediation & Arbitration Policies
Mediation: Deposits are Non-refundable
There is a non-refundable deposit of $250.00, which is 1 hour of the neutral’s hourly rate. For every half hour over the scheduled time, there will be a $125.00 fee assessed to each party.
Mediation: Cancellation Policy
Mediations canceled within 5 days will be charged a cancellation fee of $50.00. Mediations canceled within 3 days will be charged a cancellation fee of $150.00. Mediations canceled within 24 hours of the scheduled mediation will be charged $250.00, which is 1 hour of the neutral’s hourly rate. Cancellation fees shall be assessed to the canceling party unless otherwise agreed upon by the parties.
Mediation: No Show Policy
If a party does not appear at the scheduled mediation, that non-appearing party will be assessed $250.00, which is 1 hour of the neutral’s hourly rate. If both parties do not appear at the scheduled mediation, both parties will be assessed $250.00, which is 1 hour of the neutral’s hourly rate each.
Arbitration Fee Payment Policy
The Arbitration Commencement and administrative fee is $1000.00 per party, per arbitrator. At commencement, each party will be invoiced $1000.00. $500.00 of this amount is refundable per party until the initial case management order has been issued. Arbitration invoices are due upon receipt.
Arbitration: Non-refundable Deposit
There is a non-refundable Arbitration deposit of $1000.00.
Arbitration: Cancellation Policy
- Single-Day Arbitration Hearing: if arbitration is canceled within 10 days of the hearing, the parties will be charged 4 hours of the Arbitrator’s hourly rate. If the arbitration is canceled within 2 days of the hearing, the parties will be charged 8 hours of the Arbitrator’s hourly rate.
- Multiple-Day Arbitration Hearing: if arbitration is canceled within 15 days of the hearing, the parties will be charged 4 hours of the Arbitrator’s hourly rate. If the arbitration is canceled within 7 days of the hearing, the parties will be charged 8 hours of the Arbitrator’s hourly rate each.
Arbitration: No Show Policy
If a party does not appear at the scheduled mediation, that non-appearing party will be assessed $500.00. If no parties do not appear at the scheduled mediation, both parties will be assessed $500.00 each.
Final Arbitration Awards
Arbitration Awards will not be issued to either party until SLT MAC has received full payment of all associated arbitration fees and expenses.
